Onward to an Era of Hope

A new state, Georgia. A new home, the Hanson Hills. A new job, Base Administrator. Same promises, same hope.

As most (if not ALL) will tell you, moving is a whirlwind of things to do and people to say goodbye to. The majority of these tasks can be not only time consuming, but also distracting from that uneasy feeling of leaving familiar comforts and loved ones. Well, the distraction officially wore off this past weekend.

A weekend stuck in bed with a nasty cold sucked out any of the remaining glimmer of honeymoon glow. I am here. This is real. My feet are planting and I am beginning to look around and wonder, “So…. What is next then?

God and I have been thru this many times now.. He says go, I say yes, and then I go. But for some reason this feels different. This time it is about more than just me. This is BIG picture now. This is a season to pour out. Pour out what though? Hope.

When I left for the World Race (click HERE if you would like to read about my 11 month experience traveling the world), there were certain things I knew I could expect from that year: the smelliest, dirtiest, hardest, best year of my life. But ultimately it was an adventure for God and I to work on me and all my hurts and hang-ups while blessing others. God gave me new eyes to see hope and His promises. But this position with Adventures in Missions will be different than the World Race.

While I am always continuing to work on myself and my relationship with God, in my new position I will now be completing the behind the scenes work for future World Racers and other Adventures in Missions Missionaries. I have been called to be the Long-term Missions Base Administrator. It is honestly kind of a dream job for me in the non-profit, missions field realm! While this has happened quickly and unexpectedly, I am excited and believe I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

What does that look like? For the day-to-day, I will be working with the office staff and our overseas missionaries in their care and well-being, their fundraising, and also helping to set up and prepare new bases to be launched. In my three weeks time here so far, I have seen skills from every previous job come together and be utilized in this new position. How COOL!! It is a people job where I also get to utilize my administrative skills. It is a perfect blend.

I am not sure how long I will be here or what will be next, but I do know God continues to give me hope for the future and what is ahead! To move down to Georgia I had to let go and release some hopes and promises I hold.. but I have learned to place my hope in the one who gave the promises and not in the promises themselves. And now I get to pour that HOPE into those men and women who will be walking that path I once walked!

So…..What can you expect to see on this blog?

I hope this blog can be a personal outlet for this next season. Similarly to the World Race Blog I kept, it will highlight personal life experiences and spiritual growth during my time here with Adventures In Missions.

How can you support?

  1. Prayer!

Prayer is so powerful! Prayer for protection, health, peace, joy, and financial provision. Also, please let me know if there are any ways I can I be praying for YOU! Feel free to send me a message thru this blog for any prayer requests that I can join you on 🙂

  1. Monthly Supporters
